PALAZZO PRETORIO

Il Palazzo Pretorio di Vilminore, attualmente sede della Comunità Montana di Scalve, è simbolo della ricca storia di questa Valle e dei suoi quatrro Comuni: Azzone, Colere, Schilpario e Vilminore.

La sua costruzione, che simboleggia la costanza degli scalvini nella ricerca della propria unità e autonomia, fu decisa il 9 gennaio 1375, data in cui i rappresentanti di tutte le famiglie della Valle si riunirono nell’antica Pieve di scalve e deliberarono di costruire una casa da adibire a nuova residenza del Podestà.

Il primo nucleo del palazzo Pretorio sorse in pochi anni ed era ubicato all’estrema sinistra dell’attuale edificio. Nel corso degli anni la costruzione ha subito varie modifiche; il primo ampliamento risale all’anno 1563, quando la Comunità di Scalve acquistò dalla famiglia Capitanio una casa a destra del voltone e venne immediatamente decisa la costruzione delle nuove prigioni, oggi ottimamente conservate ed eloquente esempio della severità con la quale veniva amministrata la giustizia.

L’ultimo ampliamento del Palazzo Pretorio fu realizzato nel 1675 mediante l’accorpamento di una casa appartenente alla famiglia Ronchi e l’acquisto dell’antichissimo portico detto “del Malconsiglio”. Il restauro della facciata principale, effettuato recentemente, ha messo in luce l’antica storia dell’edificio, evidenziando la presnza di ben tre strati di intonaco, il più recente dei quali risaliva ai primi anni del ‘900 e rappresentava elementi decorativi a secco in pessime condizioni. Con il recupero degli intonaci sottostanti decorati con fregi, dipinti e stemmi è stata restituita all’edificio la sua identità originale.

Il palazzo racchiude, nella sua maestosità, tutta la storia della Valle. Sulla facciata principale, ottimamente conservati, si possono osservare altri due simboli della giustizia veneta: il primo è l’anello al quale venivano fissate le catene della berlina, dove il prigioniero incatenato poteva essere schernito da ogni passante, mentre una tetra scritta è scolpita sulla lapide in pietra infissa sopra una mensola: “siste viator-lege et disce-funest (orum) sub lapide-bandito-rum capita reponuntur” (fermati viandante, leggi ed impara, sotto questa lapide vengono deposte le teste dei banditi).

Si entra nel palazzo attraverso un bel portone in legno che conduce nell’androne, alla destra del quale vi sono le prigioni. Di fronte, tramite una scala in pietra, si accede al grande salone delle udienze, ultimato al termine del XVI secolo, nel quale troneggia un imponente camino d’epoca veneziana; alle pareti, affrescate con stemmi di famiglia, sono esposte le tele dei ritartti di alcuni dei numerosi pretori che prestarono servizio in Valle. Un bellissimo soffitto ligneo completa la solennità dell’ambiente.

BUILDING PRETORIO

The Building Pretorio of Vilminore, currently center of the Community Montana of Scalve, is symbol of the rich history of this Valley and his/her Common quatrros: Azzone, Colere, Schilpario and Vilminore.

His/her construction, that symbolizes the constancy of the scalvinis in the search of his/her own unity and autonomy, January 9 th 1375 was definite, gives in which the representatives of all the families of the Valley gathered him in the ancient Parish of scalve and they deliberated to build a house to turn to new residence of the Podestà.

The first nucleus of the building Pretorio rose in few years and you/he/she was situated to the extreme left of the actual building. During the years the construction has suffered various changes; the first amplification goes up again a year 1563, when the Community of Scalve purchased to the right from the family Capitanio a house of the turned of it and the construction of the new ones was immediately decided the construction of the new jails, today excellently preserved and eloquent example of the severity with which justice was administered.

The last amplification of the Building Pretorio was realized in 1675 through the accorpamento of a belonging house to the family Ronchi and the purchase of the ancient said portico "of the Malconsiglio." The restauration of the principal façade, recently effected, she has shown the ancient history of the building, underlining the presnza of well three layers of plaster, the most recent of which it went up again a first years of the '900 and it represented decorative elements to dry under bad conditions. With the recovery of the decorated underlying plasters with friezes, paintings and coats of arms you/he/she has been returned his/her original identity to the building.

The building contains, in its majesty, the whole history of the Valley. On the principal façade, excellently preserved, other two symbols of the Venetian justice can be observed: the first one is the ring to which you/they were fixed the chains of the derision, where the chained prisoner could be mocked by every passing, while a dismal writing is graven on the headstone in nailed in stone above a shelf: "siste viator-lege et disce-funest (orum) sub headstone-bandit-rum happens reponuntur" (stopped wayfarer, laws and it learns, under this headstone the heads of the bandits are deposed).

You enters the building through a beautiful front door in wood that conducts in the porch, to the right of which there are the jails. Of forehead, through a staircase in stone, the great saloon of the hearings is entered to, completed at the end of the XVI century, in which an imposing fireplace of Venetian epoch towers; to the walls, you with coats of arms of family, the cloths of the ritarttis of some of the numerous ones are exposed the cloths of the ritarttis of some of the numerous magistrates that lent service in the Valley.
